It is connected to the mainland by a long wooden jetty and is an enchanting photo motif, especially in the evening when the sun sinks into the sea!<\/p>\n<p>The monastery, built around 1700, is now abandoned but open for tours. It is located only three kilometres from the centre of <a href=\"https:\/\/anemomylos.com\/apartments-anemomylos-korfu-sehenswuerdigkeiten-hauptstadt\/\">Corfu Town<\/a>. You can combine a visit to Vlacherna Monastery with a trip to the capital of Corfu.<\/p>\n<p>Another place of interest is on the small green neighbouring island of Pondikonisi, also called &#8220;Mouse Island&#8221;. You can get there by boat, which leaves from the wooden jetty. There is a Byzantine chapel to see.
